Lesson Policies (Updated February 9, 2024)

At Macher Swim School, we love working with swimmers of all ages. Learn more about the pricing and policies for our classes.

Children’s Classes

Classes for children include eight sessions. The cost is $114 for the full eight sessions. The vast majority of classes are 30 minutes in length. However, children at the Swim Squad level have 40-minute classes for the same price. This extra time is to encourage swimmers to develop better swimming skills and to be able to enjoy swimming at a higher level.

Adult Classes

Adult classes include eight sessions. The cost is $130. Adult classes are usually between 40 and 45 minutes in length.

Single Class Rates

If you do not enroll in a full class, single-class sessions may be available. The cost for children is $17.50 per class. The cost for adults is $22.

General Notes

Part of your cost is a $30 non-refundable deposit. This is required for all lessons, including group lessons and private lessons.

Parental support is very important for successful lessons for kids. Parents should encourage their children to try their best. Please explain to your child that is the teacher’s job to help, and the child’s job is to try. The teacher can teach more effectively if the student cooperates in the process. Parents are encouraged to ask their children to look, listen, and learn from their teachers.

Changes to all schedules may be made when necessary.

Makeup Lessons

Makeup lessons may be scheduled for a missed class. The cost to schedule a makeup class is $3.50 per class. If possible, please schedule the makeup as soon as you are able with the office. Please do not wait until the end of the session unless necessary. Makeup classes must be made up within 2 months of the missed class. However, they may be made up before the class is missed.

A period longer than 2 months must be approved by the owner, Joanne Macher. There is no charge for makeup classes canceled by Macher Swim School. This includes snow days, equipment failure, Macher family emergencies, and so on.

We usually post cancellations on KFRU radio (1400 AM and 98.0 FM), KWWR radio (96 FM), KMIZ-TV (channel 17), and KOMU-TV (channel 8).
